Experience

Kara J. Carey joined Ryan & Faenza in 2013.  An experienced family law practitioner, she has been practicing domestic relations law since 2007.   She has managed all aspects of family law cases including divorce, child support, child custody, paternity, alimony, division of property, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, contempts, modifications, removals and guardianships of minors.  She has represented clients on both sides of Abuse Prevention hearings in Probate and District Courts.  Kara is a skilled litigator and frequently appears in court for motion hearings, pre-trial conferences, contempt hearings and other court related matters.

A trained mediator and conciliator, Kara participates in the Norfolk Probate and Family Court Conciliation program through the Norfolk Bar Association.  She also provides representation to clients who are going through the mediation process.  Kara is also a participant in the Norfolk County ARC Program (Attorneys Representing Children) and has been recognized by the Court for her work.  While a law student, Kara interned with now Chief Justice Paula M. Carey at the Norfolk Probate and Family Court.
